The Loon works on her Arachnophobia one small step at a time. Heh.
The camera work was all Maria’s doing so if you notice it’s not up to my generally high standards then it’s all her fault. By all rights she was scared to the verge of shitlessness so I think she did pretty good.

First there were two…then there were four…now we’re up to over twenty and they can really put it away!
Throw in several hundred quail and a few dozen doves and our bird feeding is getting expensive. The humming birds drank over a pint of sugar water yesterday, I’ll have to refill it tonight. That quart feeder used to last about 10 days, we’ll be lucky to get 2 out of it now.
A 15 pound quail block lasts about 5 days. Before I got a paintball gun and started shooting the jackrabbits it would only last 2. About the time the jackrabbits started getting colorful their eating habit tapered off.
The bird seed for the other feeder lasts 2 days but I can’t blame that on the jackrabbits. They throw out as much as they eat then quail clean all that up too.
Word gets around fast when there’s a free meal involved.

We didn’t start the fire. Lightning did. It’s still burning.
The video is from three videos taken over 8 hours. You can see the jumps when I cut in the next clips. It’s sped up about 15x so it’s not boring as hell.

This afternoon I noticed smoke across the canyon to the ENE and showed it to the Loon. A few hours later it was was still smoking so I decdied to get a video of it after the sun went down. Here it is, from roughly 4 miles away. Gotta love the zoom. It got this from our front porch.
I had to speed it up about 10X to show that it was moving.
In case you’re wondering, yes, it’s still burning and I’m still taping. If I get anything good I’ll post it tomorrow.
